The club was founded in 1894 and was designed by legendary golf architect Old Tom Morris. The golf club offers brilliant golf in a historic setting.
On good days and bad days, Luffness offers a feeling of escape, allied to a sense of challenge and enjoyment that few other courses can match.
Luffness New Golf Club is easily accessible and is under a 40 minute drive from the city of Edinburgh. There is a direct bus from the city which stops just opposite the golf club. The golf club is within easy reach of famous golf clubs such as Gullane, Muirfield and North Berwick.
Luffness New is an 18 links course with a par of 70 and a length of 5456m. The course can be very tricky, especially when the wind blows down the Forth and the course has a lot of rough. There are distinctive bunkers too but like all great courses, Luffness rewards the virtues.
Visitors are welcome to Luffness New throughout the year and tee times are available throughout the week except Saturdays. Green fees for this course are quite understandable given the prestigious of the course. Trolleys are available for hire.
Luffness New Clubhouse has full amentities including locker rooms. The clubhouse provides catering and bar facilities and lunches are served in the dining room. Dinners may be organised for large groups, but must be done so in advance.
The club has a practice area and putting green ideal for golfers looking to practice or warm up before a round of golf on the course allowing you to go out and play your best golf.
