Meldrum House Country Hotel & Golf Club is found in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Translated from the Gaelic, Meall Druim means the ridge on the hill.The estate Meldrum House is set in can be traced back to the 13th century. In 1236, the barony of Meldrum was granted the Knight Templar Philip de Fedrag by the Abbot of Arbroath.
In the 1990s, three local businessmen acquired the estate and commissioned local golf architect Graeme Webster to design an 18 hole golf course around the focal point of the Meldrum House Hotel. The course, known as the Knights Course, and its hotel are set in beautiful unrivalled countryside, carved out of the natural landscape. The course is home to a variety of wildlife with possible sightings of kestrels, ospreys and roe deer possible.
Meldrum House is accessible by road and is a 30 minute drive from the city of Aberdeen, with a direct bus route to a stop only a few minutes’ walk from the hotel.Knights is an 18 hole parkland course with a par of 70 and a length of 5328m. The course has ponds at many of its holes, cleverly placed bunkers, cunningly positioned mature trees and beautiful undulating greens.
Meldrum House is a members only club, but tee times are open to visitors who are staying at the hotel or in on course lodges. As such green fees will be included in the hotel bill. Clubs, trolleys and buggies are available to hire.The clubhouse at Meldrum House offers fantastic facilities, including a comfy lounge, a TV lounge, an upstairs balcony offering panoramic views over the 18th fairway and a dining room with a varied and interesting menu.
The club has a world class practice facility, featuring a dozen target greens and a short game area, and a teaching centre offering everything needed to improve your game. The school is considered one of the finest in Scotland offering tuition and complete teaching programmes by a team of highly qualified professionals.The club’s pro shop is well stocked with brand name equipment and accessories. They also offer custom fitting and club repairs.
